"In 1931 a local builder completed a large building next door, south of The Gables [Restaurant by the same name]. Oddly enough, it was intended as an indoor golf course, but instead was run as a dance hall."

Sanford was also the operator of Sandford Roller Rink, Fort Lauderdale, Florida (1947-1960s)
(Later to become Gold Coast Roller Rink.)

• 1948 - 1950 - Grammo's Gables Roller Rink, (Grammo's purchased The Gables in 1948)
• 1950 - 1955 - Stinson's Rollaway, North Main St., So. Deerfield, MA (Listed 1950 - March 1955)
• 1955 - 1958 - Lanz's Rollerway, Rt. 5 & 10, So. Deerfield, MA (1955 - 1958)
• 1959 - 1966 - Rainbow Roller Skating RInk, Rt. 5 & 10, So. Deerfield, MA (1959 - Sold in 1966)
• 1966 - The Red Door, it hosted rock bands.
• 1969/70 - Rebranded The Woodrose Ballroom, it hosted rock and blues bands.
• 1970 - Renamed Phineaus in March before closing in early May.
• 1972's - Art's Gallery, Bands, Beef & Brew
• 197?s - Today (2022), Douglas Auctioneers. (Douglas P. Bilodeau)

Gables roller rink has come to an end.
Sadly, even though it was located just a few miles from my house, I never skated there as it closed 3 years before I started.
