Mealey's Auditorium, as a dance hall, was originally owned by William J. Mealey & (son) William F. Mealey.
"Opened on September 7th, 1910, Mealey's was a popular dance palace with 15,000 square feet of dance floor space. Over the years, it played host to Former President Robert Taft, who addressed a group of Masons there, and also hosted Big Band concerts from the 1920s and 1930s From 1941 though 1954, Mealey's was known locally as Mealey's Roller Rink when the auditorium had been converted into a roller skating rink. Mealey's closed in 1954 and was turned into a storage warehouse for various textile products. It was sold and torn down about 1961 as part of an urban renewal project. Today, the Allentown City Hall stands on its location".[8]
