Rialto Roller Rink
The Rialto Roller Rink at 82 Walnut St. in Springfield was open from the late 1930s to 1996.
The skating rink closed when a dispute over the will of former owner Vera Zytkiewicz was resolved in favor of her children. They sold the Rialto and its adjacent apartment house. The buildings were demolished to make way for a housing complex for the elderly. Some still can remember when a visiting Muhammad Ali stopped by the Rialto in 1966 and posed for pictures and signed autographs.
