Mountain Park Roller Rink, Route 5, Holyoke, Massachusetts
• Owner/Operator: Holyoke Street Railway, Louis Pellissier (President).[1]
• Leased by: Holyoke Sportsdrome Inc. (10 year lease)[1] (1938-1948)
• Manager: Karl Keincke[2]
• Pro/Coach: [?]
• Floor size: 5000 sq ft.[2]
• Floor type: Tempered hard wood.[2]
• Rink built & opened in 1938.[1]
History sites always say "In 1929, Pellissier took ownership....[etc]" and added many new attractions, including a roller rink. After an extensive search, I have found no rink or public skating existed at Mountain Park prior to 1938.
(If I am incorrect, please let me know.)

(Lincoln Park Roller Rink continued until 1985.)
Many (myself included) will remember this hall as a place they played bingo, had a picnic or listened to the Larry Chesky Band, but before that this was a roller skating rink where my parents met!
This picture (top of page) was taken long after the park closed and some rides were being stored in there.
It appears they were concerned that the roof may collapse as they added center supports.
Mountain Park is featured in many video's on YouTube and the history websites below, but there is no mention, or very little of it ever having had a roller rink.
Sad, but it seems they didn't finish doing their home work.
